Beneath layers of time, we found original hand-hewn beams, wide-plank floors, and even a few hidden surprises that spoke to the craftsmanship and resilience of early American life. Each discovery deepened our appreciation for the people who built and preserved this home long before us. When Michele and I first discovered this historic property in 2024, we had no idea just how much it would capture our hearts. As lifelong residents of New Kent County, we’ve raised our four daughters here and always felt a deep connection to the area’s landscape, people, and stories. When this home came into our lives, it felt less like a purchase and more like a calling — a chance to preserve a piece of Virginia’s remarkable past and share it with others.
